About KittyCalcs
Built by a cat owner who got tired of conflicting answers, confusing feeding advice, and calculators that never explained where the numbers came from.
KittyCalcs started because of three cats and too many conflicting answers online.
Pickles, Mango, and Luna came into my life within a year of each other, and I quickly realised that finding reliable numbers — calories, portion sizes, medicine doses, growth milestones — was harder than it should be.
Most results were either vague, contradictory, or buried in academic papers I had to pay to access.
So I did the digging myself.
I'm Sarah — a 32-year-old who works in data by day and apparently builds cat calculators by night.
I cross-referenced veterinary nutrition guidelines, worked through the research, and built the first versions of these tools for my own peace of mind.
From there, a couple of vet friends agreed to sense-check the outputs.
Other cat owners tried the early versions, pointed out where things got confusing, and helped me strip the inputs back to what actually matters.
The goal was always the same: a reliable answer in under a minute, no veterinary degree required.
KittyCalcs is still just me, three cats, and no outside funding.
The calculators are free because I use them too.
If they save you a 2 a.m. panic search and help keep your cat healthy, that's the job done.
